Leopards Build Early Lead and Never Trail

Gionino's Pizzeria Oakwood - Mobile AdLouisville wasted no time taking control, scoring four times in the opening quarter to seize command of the match. Gianna Pentito opened the scoring at the 11:06 mark before Claire Genet doubled the lead less than three minutes later. Abby Demos then found the back of the net with 6:30 left in the quarter, and Izzy Babcock capped the early outburst with a goal at the 1:30 mark to put the Leopards in front 4-0 after one.

That fast start proved to be the difference in the final tally. Boardman managed just one goal in the first three quarters, while Louisville steadily added to its advantage.

Babcock Records Another Hat Trick

Josie Butler scored in the second quarter off an assist from Grace Diller to make it 5-1 at halftime. Babcock then struck again in the third quarter, finishing a rebound after a free-position attempt to stretch the lead to 6-1.

Babcock opened the fourth-quarter scoring to record her hat trick. She collected her own rebound and slipped a quick shot underneath the goalkeeper to make it 7-2.

Demos and Pentito each added 2 goals in the win. Demos juked a defender and found space down the seam to put Louisville in front 8-2 with 7:25 remaining. Pentito scored on a free-position chance 58 seconds later to open up the Leopards largest lead of the contest at 9-2.
