The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team fell on the road to the No.9-ranked St. Edward Eagles 72-51 Friday night at St. Edward High School. With the loss, Louisville drops to 8-8 on the season.

Mathie Scores Game-High 15 to Lead Leopards
Max Mathie scored 11 of his game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Leopards. The outcome was not in question, as the top-ranked Eagles built a 58-30 lead through three quarters, but Mathie’s 3 three-pointers helped Louisville to outscore St. Edward 21-14 in the final stanza.
Cohen Rogers also scored 7 of his 12 points in the fourth quarter, including a three-pointer. Jake Baker scored in every quarter and finished with 9. Other scorers for the Leopards included Brandon Sanders with 7, Luke Boldon with 3, Colton Dougherty and Colten Norris with 2 each, and Gabe Stoffer with 1 from the free throw stripe.
Knox Finishes with Game-High 15 for Eagles
Zymir Knox hit a pair of three-pointers in the second quarter and scored all of his game-high 15 points in the first three quarters to lead St. Edward. The Eagles led 14-8 at the end of the first quarter before doubling up the Leopards 28-14 in the second quarter to take a commanding 42-22 lead at the break.
Sam Variglotti also made a pair of three-pointers and finished with 8. Kaleb Gettis and Mike Williams made the only other St. Edward three-pointers and each added 7. The quartet of JT Kelsheimer, Carson Link, Ian Murray, and Kellen Juliana all scored 6 each. Rounding out the Eagles’ scoring were: Dustin Hess with 5, Cole Arbogast with 3, Will Briggs with 2, and Brendan Ansberry with 1.
St. Edward has now won four straight games and improves to 12-2 on the season. They entered the contest ranked No. 9 in Division I on MaxPreps.
Louisville Vs. St. Edward Boys Basketball Series
The Leopards are now 1-2 against the Eagles all-time, which includes a 0-2 record when playing at St. Edward in the series. Louisville’s lone victory came in a 67-43 win at home last season. The Eagles won the initial meeting 62-55 in Lakewood in 2024.
