The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team fell on the road to the No. 3-ranked Canfield Cardinals 59-39 Friday night at Canfield High School. With the loss, Louisville is now 7-6 on the season.

Wilson Leads Leopards with Team-High 10
Drake Wilson scored in every quarter and finished with a game-high 10 points to lead the Leopards. Cohen Rogers also hit a pair of three-pointers and scored all 9 of his points in Louisville’s 22-point fourth quarter.
Luke Boldon led the Leopards in the opening quarter as Louisville kept it close early, trailing just 10-7 at the end of the first quarter. Boldon finished with 2 three-pointers and 8 points. Colton Dougherty also made a three-ball and ended the evening with 5 points. Blake Carr and Max Mathie rounded out the Leopard scoring with a three-pointer each.
Riccardo Scores Game-High 21 to Lead Cardinals
Jace Riccardo scored 12 of his game-high 21 points in the second half to lead Canfield. Riccardo hit both of his three-pointers in the third quarter as the Cardinals expanded a 19-12 halftime advantage to 38-17 by the end of the third quarter.
Grant Seachrist then scored 12 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter to maintain Canfield’s 20-plus point advantage. Seachrist made 2 of his 3 three-pointers in the final stanza as the Cardinals were edged 22-21 in the fourth quarter while still cruising to a 20-point win.
Other scorers for Canfield included Joseph Gabriel with 9, Landon Shina with 6, Bryce Roberts with 4, and Collin Casey and Sean Tokash who made a pair of free throws each.
The Cardinals have now won seven straight games and sit at 12-2 on the season. Canfield is currently ranked #3 in Division IV with their only losses coming to Youngstown Chaney in the season opener and Youngstown Ursuline on December 19.
Louisville Vs. Canfield Boys Basketball Series
The loss snaps the Leopards’ three-game winning streak against the Cardinals between 2021-2023. Louisville is now 3-5 against Canfield all-time, which includes an 0-3 record when playing on the road at Canfield in the series.
