The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team overwhelmed the visiting Waterloo Vikings with a dominant second-half showing to earn an 8-1 victory Saturday afternoon at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the win, Louisville extends its unbeaten streak to five games and improves to 6-4-1 on the season.

Schillig Scores Twice in Opening Half

Louisville set the tone early and never looked back. Senior Alyssa Schillig got the scoring started midway through the opening half when she knocked in a corner kick from junior Haile Folk to put the Leopards ahead 1-0 at the 22:02 mark. Just under 20 minutes later, Schillig struck again—this time on a setup from freshman Ava Seitz—to double the Louisville lead before the break.

The Leopards carried a 2-0 advantage into halftime.


Manley Kickstarts Trio of Goals in 3:12

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdSenior Maddie Manley opened the floodgates just 1:43 into the second half with a goal off a free kick to make it 3-0. Just 33 seconds later, Violet Lab scored off a feed from freshman Avery Mann to push the lead to 4-0.

Not long after, junior Reese Riley found the back of the net via an assist from Schillig to increase the Louisville advantage to 5-0. Less than five minutes into the second half, the Leopards had surpassed their opening half total with three goals in a span of 3:12.


Lab and Riley Each Notch a Second Goal

Corey Street for Mayor AdLab and Riley continued taking turns scoring goals. Lab netted her second of the game receiving an assist from her fellow senior sister Lilli Lab with 31:47 remaining.

Riley then added her second score via an assist from Tristyn Edgein to make it 7-0 with 27:10 to go.


Pauli Answers Viking Goal

Gorgas Street Horror 2025 AdWaterloo’s lone goal came with 24:11 remaining when Koralee Jenior broke the shutout.

The Leopards answered quickly, as freshman Emily Pauli tallied her first varsity goal with a strike off a pass from junior Payton Sheldon to cap the scoring at 8-1 with 18:28 left in the contest.


First Meeting Between Louisville and Waterloo Since 2010

This was the first meeting between Louisville and Waterloo since 2010 when the Leopards edged the Vikings 5-4. Louisville leads the all-time series 2-1 overall, which includes a 1-1 record in home games in the series. Waterloo shutout the Lady Leopards 2-0 back in 2009 in their only other meeting played at Louisville.
