The Louisville Leopards Volleyball program swept all three levels against the visiting Canton McKinley Bulldogs Thursday night at Louisville High School. The varsity squad captured a four-set victory 25-22, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20 to even their record at 6-6 on the season.


Leopard Leaders

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdMabel Kiko dominated at the net with 17 kills and 7 blocks to pace the Leopards. Dakota Gross added 13 kills, while setter Carlee Rhome dished out 24 assists and contributed 10 digs and 2 aces.

Defensively, Karis Miglich recorded a team-high 14 digs to go with 2 aces, and Taylor McCully turned in a well-rounded performance with 14 digs, 4 kills, 2 blocks, and 2 aces.


Varsity Rallies in Key Moments

Corey Street for Mayor AdThe Leopards opened with a 25-22 win in the first set before dropping a dramatic second frame 27-25. Louisville had rallied from a 24-21 deficit to tie the set at 24, but McKinley held on to even the match.

The Bulldogs carried momentum into the third, taking an early lead, but the Leopards clawed back to win 25-21. Louisville finished strong in the fourth, pulling away late for a 25-20 victory to close out the match.


Leopards Beat Bulldogs at Every Level

Louisville’s JV squad swept McKinley in straight sets 25-13, 25-21 to improve to 4-6.

The freshman team rallied after dropping the opener to win 19-25, 25-9, 25-11 to stay unbeaten at 9-0. In the deciding set, Bailey Cole sparked the Freshman Leopards with 11 straight service points to start the frame, powering the team to victory.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards travel to Uniontown Lake High School for a tri-match on Saturday, September 20. Louisville will challenge Lake at 10:00 AM and the take on St. Vincent-St. Mary after. JV will host the Blue Streaks and Fighting Irish and Freshman will travel to St. Vincent-St. Mary against the same teams starting at 10:00 AM.
