Louisville Earns Road Win at New Philadelphia in Four Sets – Volleyball

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball team earned a road victory Thursday night, defeating the host New Philadelphia Quakers in four sets 25-23, 21-25, 25-20, 25-16. With the win, the Lady Leopards improve to 5-4 on the season.
All-Round Efforts Lead the Way
Taylor McCully paced the Leopards with 9 kills, 13 digs, and 3 aces. Dakota Gross powered the front row with a team-high 12 kills, while Mabel Kiko contributed 7 kills and 4 blocks at the net. Running the offense was Carlee Rhome, who tallied 25 assists and added 7 digs defensively.
Leopards Control the Final Two Frames
Louisville set the tone with a narrow 25-23 win in the opening set, but New Philadelphia answered back with a 25-21 victory in the second to even the match. The Leopards regrouped, using a strong team effort to take the third set 25-20 before finishing off the Quakers 25-16 in the fourth to seal the match.
Leopards at Every Level
The freshman Leopards remained unbeaten, rallying for a three-set win over the Quakers 23-25, 25-19, 26-24 to improve to 6-0. The JV squad battled through three tight sets before falling 22-25, 26-24, 22-25, dropping to 2-5 on the season.
