The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball team came up short against the visiting Marlington Dukes Saturday afternoon at Louisville High School, falling in four sets 22-25, 18-25, 25-18, 20-25. With the loss, the Lady Leopards drop to an even 3-3 on the season.
Carlee Rhome paced Louisville with a well-rounded performance, finishing with 18 assists, 13 service points, 6 aces, and 10 digs. At the net, Mabel Kiko registered 10 kills and 3 blocks to lead the Leopards’ attack, while Dakota Gross added 9 kills and 2 aces.
Marlington jumped out to an early two-set advantage with wins of 25-22 and 25-18. Louisville fought back in the third frame, putting together a strong stretch to take the set 25-18 and extend the match. The Dukes, however, responded in the fourth, pulling away late for a 25-20 victory to close out the contest.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to take on the Carrollton Warriors on Monday, September 8. Freshman will begin at 4:30 PM, JV will follow around 5:30 PM, and Varsity will conclude the night with a start around 6:30 PM.
