Louisville Falls to Hoban in Second Half 5-2 – Boys Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team fell to the visiting Archbishop Hoban Knights 5-2 Saturday night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the loss, Louisville drops to 1-2 on the young season.

Burton Scores Twice as Game Enters Half Tied
Carter Burton continued his hot start to the season by scoring both goals for the Leopards in the opening half. He opened the scoring just 6:54 into the match with a strike via an assist from Owen Swope to put Louisville in front 1-0.
After Hoban answered with back-to-back goals from Sean Kowalik and Zachary Blaser to take a 2-1 lead, Burton responded again—this time converting a penalty kick with 10:47 remaining in the half to even the score at 2-2 heading into the break.
Blaser Notches Hat Trick as Knights Pull Away
The Knights took control in the second half, netting three unanswered goals to pull away from the Leopards. Blaser scored the eventual game-winner just 1:36 after halftime to give Hoban a 3-2 lead. Kowalik added his second of the game midway through the half to extend the lead, and Blaser completed his hat trick with 3:13 to play to cap the scoring at 5-2.
The Knights are now 1-2 on the season after suffering home losses to Green and Perry to begin the year.
Hoban Stays Undefeated Against Louisville
The loss continues a tough trend for the Leopards against the Knights. Louisville is now 0-5-1 all-time against Archbishop Hoban, including an 0-3-1 mark at home. The Knights have now outscored the Leopards 21-7 in the series and have won each of the past three meetings dating back to 2023.
