Louisville Varsity Leopards Loses Despite Out Hitting Chardon Varsity Hilltoppers

Even though Louisville Varsity Leopards collected 10 hits to Chardon Varsity Hilltoppers’s four, they still fell 7-5 on Thursday. Cody Zahler led Louisville Varsity Leopards with three hits.
Louisville Varsity Leopards fought back after falling down by seven runs in the fifth inning. The comeback fell just short though. Louisville Varsity Leopards closed the gap by scoring on a double, a single, a single, and a single.
Chardon Varsity Hilltoppers got on the board in the second inning after Blake Johnson induced Cal Smith to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored.
Chardon Varsity Hilltoppers extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Jayden Buth and Smith.
John Timko earned the win for Chardon Varsity Hilltoppers. The starter allowed 10 hits and five runs (four earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none. Johnson took the loss for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The hurler went three innings, surrendering five runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out two and walking two. Buth earned the save.
Louisville Varsity Leopards amassed 10 hits in the game. Zander Triplett drove the middle of the lineup, leading Louisville Varsity Leopards with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Grayson Brunoni, Brock Leghart, and Cooper Rice each collected multiple hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards.
Smith led Chardon Varsity Hilltoppers with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Buth and Smith each collected two hits for Chardon Varsity Hilltoppers.
Next up for Louisville Varsity Leopards is a game at Waynedale Varsity Golden Bears on Friday.

Louisville Leopards JV 2025 Survive Chardon JV Hilltoppers

Despite seeing their 5-run lead whittled down by the end, Louisville Leopards JV 2025 still held off for a 9-8 victory on Thursday. Chardon JV Hilltoppers closed the gap by scoring on a hit by pitch, a double, a double, a ground out, a single, a walk, and a walk.
Louisville Leopards JV 2025 got on the board in the top of the first inning after Caden Kortis singled, and Jacob Roudebush grounded out, each scoring one run.
A ground out by Carter Whitlach, and a single by Kortis helped Louisville Leopards JV 2025 extend their early lead in the second.
Dom Grano grounded out, which helped Chardon JV Hilltoppers tie the game at five in the bottom of the third.
Louisville Leopards JV 2025 took the lead in the top of the fourth. An error scored one run, to give Louisville Leopards JV 2025 the advantage, 6-5.
Three more Louisville Leopards JV 2025 runs crossed the plate in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 9-5. An error scored one run, and Landyn Fohner homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Brody Stephenson earned the win for Louisville Leopards JV 2025. The starter surrendered six hits and five runs (zero earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three. Brayden Kaiser took the loss for Chardon JV Hilltoppers. The starting pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on six hits, striking out three and walking six. Fohner, Cohen Graybill, and Jimi Crilow each came on in relief for Louisville Leopards JV 2025 and shutdown Chardon JV Hilltoppers.
Owen Wilson and Kortis were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Louisville Leopards JV 2025. Kortis led Louisville Leopards JV 2025 with three runs batted in.
