The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated the visiting CVCA Royals 58-51 Wednesday Night at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 2-1 on the season.

Baker and Miglich Both Score Team High 15

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdMaggie Baker and Karis Miglich both scored a team high 15 points to lead Louisville. Baker made a team best 5 three-pointers to account for all her points, which included hitting a pair of triples in the fourth quarter. Miglich also cashed in on 3 field goals from beyond the arc.

Ezela Manko also made 2 three-pointers to account for all of her 6 points. The Lady Leopards finished the night with 10 makes from beyond the arc as a team.


Barwick Leads Third Quarter Leopard Take Over

Romeo's Pizza Louisville, Ohio AdCourtney Barwick would finish with 12 of her 14 points in the second half. The two teams were knotted at 25-25 at the break before Barwick scored 8 in the third quarter that saw Louisville outscore CVCA 18-11 to take a 43-36 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The two teams would play even once again as each scored 15 in the final stanza allowing the Leopards to maintain the same 7-point margin when the final buzzer sounded. Baker hit a pair of three-pointers, Miglich hit a three and added a pair of free throws, and Barwick was also a perfect 2-for-2 from the line finishing with 4 points in the final period.

Mabel Kiko also ended the evening with 4 points for the Lady Leopards. Other scorers for Louisville included Reagan Biery and Tillett with 2 points each.


Williams Scores Game High 22 to Lead CVCA

Joi Williams scored 13 of her game high 22 points in the first half to lead the Lady Royals. She banged home 4 three-pointers and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw stripe in the game.

Sofia Schroeter also hit double figures with 10. Shaye Tepley and Audrey Haines both hit a pair of three-pointers and finished with 9 and 6 points respectively. Hunter Guinn rounded out the scoring for CVCA with all 4 of her points coming in the second half. 

The Lady Royals have now dropped 2 straight and fall to 1-3 on the season following the loss.

This was the first ever matchup between Louisville and CVCA in girls basketball. The Royals are the 82nd unique opponent Lady Leopards basketball has challenged all-time.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to take on the Elyria Catholic Panthers on Saturday, December 7. JV will begin at 11:00 AM and Varsity will follow around 12:00 PM from Elyria Catholic High School.
