Leopards Succumb to Cuyahoga Falls 2nd Half Comeback in Regular Season Finale – Boys Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team fell to the visiting Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers 3-1 Thursday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the loss, Louisville finishes the regular season with an even record of 7-7-2.

Burton Scores Lone Goal for Leopards
Louisville got on the board first when Carter Burton scored the only goal of the first half just 7:15 into the contest. Will Pochubay recorded the assist on the play and the Leopards would carry that 1-0 advantage into the half.
Burton finishes the regular season with a team leading 19 goals. The assist was Pochubay’s 4th of the varsity campaign.
Black Tigers Score Thrice in 9:09 Span
Cuyahoga Falls rallied backed with three second half goals in a span of 9:09. Jackson Huston scored the game-tying goal with 25:51 remaining in the game. Karter Semler rebounded a deflection off the LHS goalkeeper and pushed through the go-ahead goal less than four minutes later. Finally, Noah Adkins popped up a sky high boot that eventually came down and found its mark in the back of the net to put the Black Tigers up 3-1 with 16:42 remaining.
Cuyahoga Falls has now won two straight games and finishes the regular season with the same record as Louisville at 7-7-2.
Louisville Vs. Cuyahoga Falls Boys Soccer Series
This is the first time the Leopards have lost to the Black Tigers. Louisville is now 2-1 against Cuyahoga Falls All-Time, which includes a 1-1 record in games in the series played at Louisville Leopards Stadium.
The Leopards shutout the Black Tigers at home last season 5-0. Louisville also won 4-1 at Cuyahoga Falls in 2017.
The Leopards finish with a 5-1-1 record at home for the season.

JV: Louisville 4, Cuyahoga Falls 0
The Leopards Boys JV Soccer Team shutout the visiting Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers 4-0 in their season finale Thursday Evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville JV closes the season winning three straight games and going undefeated in its final seven to finish 9-4-3 overall.
Maddox Mayle recorded a hat track to lead the Leopards. Noah Papai provided assists on both of Mayle’s first half goals and Braden Shadle notched the assist on Mayle’s hat trick score in the second half.
Evan Swope also scored an unassisted goal to open the scoring in the second half.
Goalkeepers Justin Keister and Mason Ivey combined for the shutout in goal. Keister started the match and Ivey kept the net clean in the final 20 minutes of action. The shutout is Leopard JV’s third straight and eighth overall for the season.
