Tigers Strike First, But Leopards Answer

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdHowland struck first in the opening quarter when their running back #2 broke through the Leopard defense for a 3-yard touchdown run with 4:25 left in the first. However, Louisville’s defense held strong, denying the two-point conversion and keeping the score at 6-0.

Louisville quickly responded on their next possession. After an impressive drive, Karter Elmerick punched it in from 1 yard out to tie the game. Ryker Youngen followed up with the extra point, giving the Leopards a 7-6 lead with 46 seconds left in the first quarter.

Leopards Build Lead in Second Quarter

Romeo's Pizza Louisville, Ohio AdThe second quarter belonged to the Leopards as they began to take control of the game. Louisville capitalized on good field position following a blocked punt. Karter Pawley then powered his way into the endzone with a 2-yard touchdown run, capping off a short 15-yard drive. Youngen’s extra point made it 14-6 with 5:47 remaining in the second quarter.

Louisville’s defense continued to dominate, with standout plays by Elijah Frank and Jeremy Wooten in the backfield. Their pressure forced multiple turnovers on downs, and with time expiring in the first half, Maddux Edgein completed a 17-yard run to set up a 1-yard quarterback sneak for a touchdown on the final play. Youngen remained perfect on extra points, and the Leopards took a commanding 21-6 lead into halftime.

Leopards Dominate Second Half

The third quarter saw the Leopards extend their lead even further. Jeremy Wooten set up the first score of the half with a 58-yard run, then capped off the drive with an 11-yard touchdown catch from Edgein to make it 28-6.

Just minutes later, Louisville scored again. Following a short Howland punt, Anderson Jones burst through for a 33-yard run to set up the next score. Edgein found Maddux Long in the endzone for a 7-yard touchdown pass, and with another successful Youngen extra point, the Leopards extended their lead to 35-6 with 3:42 left in the third.

Defense Seals the Win

Louisville’s defense continued to dominate in the fourth quarter, highlighted by a key tackle for loss on 4th-and-3 by Kaden Mick, ending any hopes of Howland adding to their total. The Leopards ran out the clock in the final quarter, securing their eighth victory of the season and completing their perfect 8-0 run.

Leopards Finish Undefeated

The 35-6 victory over Howland marks a fitting end to a remarkable season for the Louisville Leopards 8th Grade Football team. The Leopards showcased dominance on both sides of the ball, combining a powerful running game with a stingy defense that stifled the Tigers throughout the contest.
