My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdThe Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team edged the host Green Bulldogs 46-44 Wednesday Night at Green High School. With their third straight win, Louisville improves to 9-4 on the season.

The Bulldogs held a slight advantage at the end of each of the first three quarters. The hosts took a 13-11 lead out of the gate, went ahead 26-22 at halftime, and remained in front 34-32 heading into the fourth quarter. LHS would rally in outscoring Green 14-10 in the final eight minutes to take the sectional final rematch.

Mullett’s put-back with 1:17 left in the game proved to be the game winner giving Louisville the go ahead 46-44 lead. A few possessions later, the Bulldogs looked for a game-tying basket off an in-bound with 1.7 seconds remaining. Mullett’s tight defense on the right elbow forced an errant shot to graze of the right side of the rim as the girls in blue celebrated victory.

The victory snaps the Leopards five game losing streak against the Bulldogs. Louisville last won at Green 44-39 on January 7, 2015 prior. The Leopards now trail the all-time series 4-8 against the Bulldogs, but the series is an even 2-2 when played inside the confines of Green High School.
