Louisville Defeats St. Vincent-St. Mary on Senior Night
Louisville 3, St. Vincent-St. Mary 1
The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team defeated the visiting Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish 3-1 on Senior Night Tuesday at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With their season finale victory, Louisville finishes the regular season with a record of 5-9-2.
Junior Riley Adams scored a pair of goals to lead the Leopards. Adams scored an unassisted goal in the first half and also found the net for the initial score of the second half via an assist from Sophomore Mason Foley.
Louisville added to their lead when Freshman Tanis Murray scored his first career varsity goal via an assist from fellow Freshman Cooper Gilbert. The Leopards would surrender a late goal to the Fighting Irish, but shut them out the rest of the way to win 3-1.
Sophomore Goalkeeper Joe Reynolds also recorded 7 saves in the net for Louisville.
This was the first ever meeting between the two schools in boys soccer.
Prior to the game Louisville Athletics honored its three Boys Soccer Senior Players for Senior Night! Those Seniors included Jeremy Gaitan, Hunter Vaught, and Chris Walters. Leopard Nation would like to thank these Seniors for their hard work and dedication to the Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Program and wish them the best of luck in their future beyond high school!
UP NEXT: The #7 Seed Leopards will next host the #10 Seed Canton South Wildcats in the DII Canton Sectional Semifinals on Tuesday, October 15 at 7:00 PM.
