Leopards Shutout Wildcats in Final NBC Match – Girls Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team shutout the visiting Canton South Wildcats 6-0 on Senior Night Wednesday at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville improves to 7-6-2 overall and finishes 5-2 in the NBC.
Hannah Baughman recorded a Hat Trick and assisted fellow Senior Megan Chatelain on a second half goal to lead the Leopards. Kayla Gibson also scored a first half goal and delivered a pass to Aubry Fankhauser who blasted a kick from 38 yards out into the back of the net during the second half. Fankhauser and Senior Deana Ross also tallied assists for Louisville.
The game remained scoreless through the first 33 minutes before the Lady Leopards erupted for 3 goals in a span of just 87 seconds. Baughman scored back-to-back goals and Gibson found a seam in the left side of the net during the run.
Louisville never looked back. The second string filled in nicely during the first twenty minutes of the second half before the starters returned to add three more scores in the final 13:33. The defense held Canton South off the board for their 4th shutout of the season.
The Leopards have now played the Wildcats 11 times overall over the course of the past 11 seasons. Louisville has won every matchup and is 6-0 at home against Canton South. The Leopards have shutout the Wildcats 8 times and have outscored them 76-3 all-time.
This is Louisville’s final league game as a member of the NBC. The Lady Leopards finish 58-29-11 in 15 seasons competing in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference.
