Louisville Ties Team Record with 4th Straight Shutout at Alliance – Softball

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team run-ruled the host Alliance Aviators 13-0 in 6 Innings at Union Title Field Tuesday 
Evening. With the victory, Louisville stays unbeaten at 4-0 and improves to 3-0 in the NBC.
Kirsten Wharmby pitched a complete game shutout to lead the Leopards in the circle. She pitched all 6 innings, gave up just 3 hits, and fanned 11 to earn the victory. Wharmby is the third different Louisville pitcher to record a shutout this season. The fourth consecutive shutout ties the Lady Leopards team record also set during the 1998, 2000, and 2012 softball seasons.

At the plate, Louisville reached double digits for the third time this season. Lead-off hitter Teagan Rice batted 4-for-5 with a double, 
3 RBIs, and a run scored to lead the Leopards. Lexi Zavarelle batted 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, and 3 runs scored as well.
Louisville continued to use the long ball to aid their cause. Kaycee Ollis hit a solo homer in the first inning and a 2-run single in the third in her only at-bats. Savannah Miner also went 2-for-3 at the dish with a double and a 2-run homer. Miner has now homered in each of the last 3 games. Peyton McKeever also had 2 hits and Sydney McKeever drove in a pair of runs to round out the Leopards offensive highlights.
With the victory, Louisville has now won 15 straight contests over Alliance including the last 8 at Union Title Field. The Leopards now lead the all-time-series 23-5, which includes an 11-3 mark at AHS. Louisville has now won 49 out of their last 50 road games in league play.
