Louisville Still Unbeaten in NBC, Defeats Minerva – Girls Basketball
Louisville 55, Minerva 45
The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team earned a 55-45 road victory over the Minerva Lions Wednesday at MHS. With the victory, Louisville improves to 7-2 overall and remains undefeated at 5-0 in the NBC.
Abby Beaver scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Lady Leopards. Sarah Lairson also scored 16 points to go along with a game-high 4 steals. Both Beaver and Lairson finished with 3 assists a piece.
Louisville took command of the game early in building a 16-6 double advantage after the first quarter. Minerva rallied to cut the deficit to 25-20 by halftime, but the Leopards outscored the Lions 30-25 in the second half to take the game.

Louisville won despite being out-rebounded 32-18 including a 21-13 disadvantage on the defensive end. Lauren Frigyes led the Lions with a game-high 12 rebounds and a team-high 16 points. Ellie Jackson led the Leopards on the boards with 6 rebounds while also dropping in 8 points.
Bri Gassman produced a solid stat line for Minerva with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Madison Pearson also tacked on 7 points and 2 assists for the Lions who dropped to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in the NBC.
Louisville has now defeated Minerva in 5 straight meetings overall. The Leopards now lead the all-time series 42-19, which includes a 19-11 record in games played on the Lions home court.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Wooster to take on the Generals on Thursday, December 29. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
