Girls Soccer Edges GlenOak 4-3 in Kick For Cure Game

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Soccer Team edged the visiting GlenOak Golden Eagles 4-3 in their Kick for the Cure game Saturday at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the victory, Louisville improves to 10-1-1 on the season.
A back-and-forth game was decided on Bri Horton’s game-winning goal with 7:36 remaining in the contest. Hannah Baughman took the corner kick, the ball pin-balled around in the box before Horton banged it home to make it 4-3 Louisville.

Jenny Hamsher led the Leopards with a first half goal and also assisted Kayla Gibson in a second half goal that tied the game at 2-2. Louisville regained the lead on what was officially scored as an own goal with 12:51 left to play. Baughman was credited with 1 of her 2 assists in the game on the play.
GlenOak tied the game back up less than a minute later when Olivia DiMichele scored with 11:58 left in the game. She also had an assist on an earlier goal to Marissa DiMichele who scored both of the Golden Eagles other goals.
With the victory, Louisville has now defeated GlenOak in 7 of their last 8 meetings. The Leopards now lead the all-time series 9-4-3, which includes a 6-3-1 mark at home.
