6. Volleyball Takes NBC & Sectional Title
The 2010 Lady Leopards Volleyball squad dominated their competition finishing 20-4 on the season. Louisville was 13-1 in NBC play, with their only hiccup being a five set loss to Canton South. Following the loss to the Wildcats, the Lady Leps swept NBC opponents in three sets six straight times to end the regular season, which gave them eleven 3-0 victories within the conference.
In tournament action at Stow, the Lady Leopards swept Firestone 25-13, 25-7, 25-11 to claim the Sectional Crown. Lauren Bricker had 14 points serving, 2 aces, and 21 assists, Alyx Crislip also had 17 kills, and Madison Rogers led the team defensively with three digs. With the sweep Louisville had won 23 sets in row and seemed invincible heading into the District Semifinals. However, the Lady Leps run came to an end when they lost to Stow on their home court 20-25, 13-25, 15-25.
Louisville Volleyball had a magical season winning their fifth NBC title (first since 2005) and seventh league title overall. The 2010 season marks the first time that Louisville has had a 20-win season since 2005, the last year they won Districts (20-6). There 19-3 regular season is the best mark since 2000 when they went 20-1 in the regular season en route to a 23-2 season, another year in which they were District Champions.
