3-Game Winning Streak Puts Freshman at 10-4

Salem Quakers at Louisville Leopards Freshman Boys Basketball

The Louisville Leopards boys freshman team is now 10-4 overall and 10-3 in the NBC.  Below is a write-up of each contest:


Canton South 43, Louisville 32 

Blake Hoover and Jake Mathie led the Leps with 8 points each, but it wouldn’t be enough as Louisville fell to the Cats 43-32 at Walker Elementary School.  Kole Ickle led all scorers with 13 points for Canton South and Garrett Crum also scored 9 for the Wildcats.

Louisville defeated Minerva

Louisville 36, Marlington 34

Blake Hoover led the Leopards with 10 points and Jake Mathie also scored 8 to lead the Leopards past host Marlington 36-34.  Louisville managed just 3 points in the final period, but still hung on the get the close victory.  Tyler Oakes hit 3 three-pointers and led Marlington with 11 points.

Louisville 51, Salem 18

Louisville opened up a 29-11 halftime lead against the Quakers before rolling to a 51-18 victory.  Salem managed to score just two points in the final period. Jake Mathie led the Leps with 11 points, while  John Lairson also added 10 and Jarrod Moran scored 8.  No one on the Quakers made more than 1 shot from the field for the entire game.
