Louisville Wins 5-Set Thriller Against Marietta in Sectional – Volleyball
Louisville 22-25-29-16-16, Marietta 25-13-27-25-14
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team edged the Marietta Tigers 22-25, 25-13, 29-27, 16-25, 16-14 in the DI Uniontown Sectional Semifinals Tuesday Evening at Lake High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 13-10 on the season and advances to play the top seeded Jackson Polar Bears in the DI Uniontown Sectional Finals on Thursday, October 19 at 5:30 PM at Lake.
Cami Nau led the Lady Leopards with 18 kills and was also their top server with 15 points and 5 aces. Morgan Cole was the other offensive leader for Louisville with 30 assists.
On defense, Libero Ellie Jackson finished with a team-high 12 digs and Emily Fresenko ended the evening with a team-leading 3 blocks.
The Lady Leopards have now successfully won their opening tournament match in each of the past 5 seasons. They have also accomplished the same feat 10 of the past 12 season overall under the leadership of Head Coach Jodie Cress.
