Louisville 63, Youngstown Chaney 51
The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated the visiting Youngstown Chaney Cowboys 63-51 Friday Night at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 9-4 on the season.
Spencer Hall led the Leopards with a game-high 17 points, all in the first three quarters of play. Hall also landed a dunk in the third quarter in which Louisville inflated their lead to 50-32 heading into the fourth quarter. Scott Gronow also added 11 points and Colton Jones reached double figures with 10.
The Leopards led 9-5 at the end of the first quarter, but outscored the Cowboys 20-6 in the second quarter to double them up at the half 32-16. Louisville outscored Chaney 18-16 in the third before cruising to a double digit victory.
The Cowboys were led by Lawrence who hit 4 of their 9 three-pointers as a team and scored a team leading 16 points. Morgan also scored all of his 11 points in the second half and Tubbs made 2 three-pointers and finished with 8 points.
This is the first known meeting between the two schools in boys basketball.
