Salem Quakers at Louisville Leopards Wrestling 2016
Louisville 54, Salem 19
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Wrestling Team took down the visiting Salem Quakers 54-19 on Senior Night Thursday at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 10-3 overall and secures a winning record in the NBC at 4-2.
Jackson Simpson (106), Satchel Strickmaker (170), Jimmy Leonard (182), and Frankie Falcone (195) all earned pins to lead the Leopards. Ryan Jakubiak (126) also won by technical fall 17-2 and Andy Graham (120) earned a major decision 13-3 for Louisville.
The Leopards won the first four matches of the night in taking a 21-0 advantage. The Quakers won the next three match-ups to cut the advantage to 21-13. However, Louisville won every weight class from 152 to 220 to bury Salem.
The win clinches the Leopards first winning NBC record since 2011-12. Jager Kendrick (160) also won by decision for the Leopards. Paul Lycan (113), Brock Mehl (152), and Chase Lautzenheiser (220) all won by forfeit.
Trent Kellogg (138) and Kaleb Messersmith (285) won by fall to lead the Quakers (3-9, 0-6).
Prior to the game, Louisville honored its two Seniors Frankie Falcone and Logan Skolosh. Leopard Nation would like to personally thank these two Seniors for all of their hard work and dedication toward the Louisville Wrestling program and wish them the best of luck on their post-high school journey.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Canton South to take on the Wildcats on Thursday, February 11 at 7:00 PM in the NBC finale.
