Wrestling Fights Hard, but Falls to West Branch

West Branch 42, Louisville 27

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Wrestling team fell to the visiting West Branch Warriors 42-27 Thursday Evening at LHS. With the loss, Louisville falls to 8-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Leopards who won by pin included Marshall Vick (120) , Brock Mehl (152), and Jimmy Leonard (160). Vick’s win put Louisville ahead 9-3, but West Branch went on a 21-0 run following that. Mehl & Leonard won via fall in back-to-back matches after that to cut the deficit to 24-21. However, the Warriors would pull away after that to take the contest.

Other Leopards that won via decision included Ryan Jakubiak 4-2 (113), Tanner Brahler 11-4 (195), and Nick Nappi 12-9 (220).

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete at the Olentangy Tournament on Saturday, January 10 beginning at 9:00 AM.
