Louisville Leopards Basketball White Shirt - Beatty's Sports Christmas 2017The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team fell to the visiting Wooster Generals 96-38 Saturday Afternoon at LHS. With the loss, Louisville falls to 1-7 on the season.

Ellie Jackson scored a team-high 8 points and Sherilynn Mullett added 7 points to lead the Leopards offense. Cassidy Kiko also scored 6 and pulled down a team-high 5 rebounds, Kayla Gibson dished out a team leading 4 assists, and Maggie Galentine recorded a game-high 4 steals for Louisville.

The Lady Generals dominated from start to finish. They led 42-5 at the end of the first quarter and inflated their lead to 63-12 by halftime. Wooster continued building their lead in the third to take an 84-26 lead into the fourth quarter. In the final period, the two teams played an even 12-12.

Grove Appliance Alliance Ohio AdMacyn Siegenthaler poured in a game-high 36 points, pulled down 8 rebounds, and had 4 steals to lead the Generals. Three other Wooster players also reached double figures which included Stephanie Smith 15, Daisha Brown 14, and Ny’Eemah Brown 14. Additionally, Smith had 8 rebounds and 3 steals, Daisha Brown pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, and Ny’Eemah Brown tallied a game leading 9 assists. Sydney Clapp and Jaida McCloud also added 6 points and 5 assists each for WHS.

The Generals shot 65% (41 of 63) from the floor compared to the Leopards 25% (15 ot 60) performance from the field. Wooster also held an edge in three-pointers 28% (2 of 7) to 0% (0 for 12) and from the line 80% (12 of 15) to 61% (8 of 13). They also more than doubled up Louisville on the boards 40-19 and forced 20 turnovers.

The Generals have now defeated the Leopards in each of the past two seasons. The all-time series ins now even at 4-4, but Louisville still holds a 2-1 edge in home matchups against Wooster. This was the first time the two squads met at LHS since the Lady Leopards defeated the Generals 56-53 on January 7, 1989 when both squads played in the Federal League.
