Louisville Falls to West Branch in Final NBC Contest – Girls Basketball

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team fell to the undefeated West Branch Warriors 57-21 Wednesday Night at Louisville High School. With the loss, Louisville falls to 5-15 on the year and finishes their final year in the NBC with a record of 5-9.
Erin Hahn scored a team-high 5 points, pulled down a team leading 6 rebounds, and finished with 3 steals to lead the Lady Leopards. Ellie Jackson also scored 4 points and recorded a game-high 6 steals on defense. Jenna Agnone, Rachel Israel, and Cassidy Kiko also tallied 3 points each for Louisville.
The Warriors dominated from start to finish in outshooting the Leopards 48% (22 of 45) to 17% (8 of 45) from the field. They also held a 33-21 advantage on the glass, which included a 23-11 edge in defensive boards.
West Branch (20-0, 14-0) was led by Natalie Zuchowski who scored a game-high 15 points and Kayla Hovorka who finished with 14 points. The pair combined for 13 rebounds as Horvorka tallied a game-high 8 caroms. Shannon Wolfe also scored 9 points and had 5 boards to round out the Warriors top scorers.
Louisville has now fallen in each of their last 3 meetings against West Branch. The Warriors now lead the all-time series 39-22 in which they hold a 16-15 edge in games played at LHS.
West Branch is the #1 ranked team in Division II and finishes a perfect 14-0 in the NBC en route to claiming their 14th NBC Title. The Leopards and Warriors have combined to win 24 NBC Titles in the 29 year history of the league. Louisville ends their run with an all-time NBC record of 268-138 (.660), which includes a 99-41 (.707) mark under current Head Coach Garee McCully.
