The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team shutout the visiting United Local Eagles 3-0 in their rain-shortened home opener Tuesday morning at Louisville High School.

Kibler Wins #1 Singles in Straight Sets

Senior Rachel Kibler won #1 singles in straight sets 6-0, 6-1 to lead the Lady Leopards.

Both Louisville doubles teams also won in straight sets while only surrendering a single set point. The #1 doubles team of junior Ashley Dadisman and senior Bailey Menegay won 6-1, 6-0. The #2 doubles team of seniors McKenzie Taylor and Kora Woolfe was also victorious 6-0, 6-1.

Rain Halts #2 and #3 Singles

The three team points earned was enough to claim victory before the rain cancelled the rest of the match. The #2 and #3 singles matches were halted due to rain with the Leopards nearing victory in each. Senior Jade Thomas won her first set 6-1 and held a 5-0 advantage in the second set of #2 singles before the match was called. Senior Katie Yarnall also led 6-2, 4-1 in #3 singles prior to the heavens opening up.

Louisville Vs. United Tennis Series

Louisville is now 24-0 against United Local all-time dating back to their first meeting in 1997. The Lady Leopards have shutout the Lady Eagles in 7 consecutive matchups while outscoring them 33-0 in the process. This is the 15th shutout by LHS in the all-time series overall.
