Swimming Notches Wins Vs. Neighbors in Season Opener

The Louisville Leopards Boys and Girls Swim Teams both swept neighboring Marlington and St. Beatty's White JacketThomas Aquinas in the season opener held at the Louisville YMCA Wednesday Evening. Both squads are now 2-0 on the year.

The Boys edged St. Thomas Aquinas 114-113 and also defeated Marlington 114-6 to claim the sweep. The Girls dominated both opponents in beating the Dukes 154-72 and the crosstown Knights 154-61.

Three Louisville Swim records were broken during the meet. On the boys side, Nick Wertz broke his own 400 Freestyle Record with a time of 4:32.04. On the girls side, Allison Richmond also broke her own 400 Freestyle Record with a time of 4:52.24. Also, the Lady Leopards 400 Freestyle Relay team consisting of Caroline Ehlers, Ashley Grove, Alaina Hartley, and Richmond also set a new school mark with a time of 4:22.33.
