Leopards Blanked by Jaguars in OTCA Tournament – Girls Tennis

St. Joseph Academy 5, Louisville 0

The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team was shutout by the visiting St. Joseph Academy Jaguars 5-0 in the first round of the OTCA Team Tournament Monday Evening at LHS. With the loss, Louisville falls to 4-1 on the season.

The Jaguars won every match in straight sets to improve to 5-0 on the year. Singles winners included Tia Clemmons 6-3, 6-4 over Rachel Kibler, Melissa Martin 6-2, 6-0 over Jo Menegay, and Delia Guzic 6-0, 6-1 over Sherilynn Mullett.

The #1 doubles team of Kerrigan Ponsart and Mary Kate Kahl defeated the Leopards Amanda Plaskett and Jade Thomas 6-2, 6-1. The #2 doubles team of Tyler Schuerlein and Grace Kamis also defeated Louisville’s Carleen Fouts & Bailey Menegay 6-3, 6-2.

The Leopards are now 0-2 against the Jaguars all-time. St. Joseph’s Academy also defeated Louisville 4-1 in the OTCA Tournament during the 2016 season.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Millersburg to face the West Holmes Knights on Wednesday, August 21 at 4:30 PM.
