The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball team earned an 11-1 victory in 5 Innings against the visiting Carrollton Warriors on Senior Day Thursday. With the victory, Louisville is now 16-8 overall and remains tied for first place with a 10-2 NBC record.
Senior Alex Hewitt pitched a complete game, gave up just 1 run on 4 hits, and struck out 8 to lead the Leopards on the mound. Hewitt also ripped a walk-off single to right field in the bottom of the sixth to clinch the run-rule win for Louisville.
Senior Joe Crank blasted a 3-run triple to kickstart the Leopards 6-run fourth inning. Crank would go on to finish with 2 runs scored and 4 RBIs. Senior Adam Nyland also batted 2-for-3 with 3 runs batted in for Louisville. Nyland was the Warriors nightmare this week as he finished with 7 hits in just two games against Carrollton.
Caleb Pasiuk’s sacrifice fly to right field scored Krantz for the Warriors only run of the game in the top of the fifth inning. Carrollton is now 3-14 overall and 0-11 in conference play.
Brock Haren and Stephen Kerzan each had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and an RBI for the Leopards as well. Louisville has now defeated Carrollton in 14 straight meetings.
Prior to the contest, Louisville honored all five of their Seniors that included Marco Buccasso, Joe Crank, Alex Hewitt, Adam Nyland, and Krisztian Toth.
