Leopards Tie Quakers on Senior Night 1-1 – Boys Soccer

Louisville 1, Salem 1
The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer Team tied the visiting Salem Quakers 1-1 on Senior Night Tuesday at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the draw, Louisville is now 5-7-2 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play.
The Leopards got on the board first when Bradley Terra banged a kick into the top left side of the net at the start of the 7th minute. Bailey Adams spun past a Quaker defender and sent a pass into the box to record the assist.
Neither team scored again until midway through the second half. Salem’s Bryce Oller scored via an assist from Logan Murphy just feet from the net. The goal tied the game at 1-1 with exactly 21 minutes left in the contest.
Each team had opportunities in the remaining time, but neither could break the deadlock. Leopards Goalie Clayton McLaughlin went airborne to tap away a would be Quakers goal near the end of the 64th minute and later made a grab in traffic during the 68th minute. Louisville’s offense created several opportunities in the box late, but failed to connect with the back of the net.
This is the first time that the Leopards and Quakers have ever tied in a series that is dead even at 3-3-1. Louisville is 2-1-1 in home games in the series dating back to 2011 when Salem entered the league. The Leopards are also an even 55-55-12 in the conference all-time heading into their final NBC match next Tuesday at Canton South.
