Louisville Sails Past Salem 72-58 – Boys Basketball
Louisville 72, Salem 58
The Louisville Leopards Boys Basketball Team defeated the visiting Salem Quakers 72-58 Friday Evening at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 5-2 on the season and ups their mark to 2-1 in league play.
Brandon Wahl scored a team-high 14 points to lead the Leopards. Colton Jones and Derek Zeller also poured in 13 points each for Louisville. Zeller scored 12 of his 13 points in the second half and Jones hit home 3 of the Leopards 9 three-pointers as a team.
The Quakers were led by Mitch Davidson who dropped in a game-high 22 points. Chase Ackerman also scored 14 and Seth Shivers added 9 for Salem.
The Leopards have now defeated the Quakers in 9 straight meetings which includes 5 consecutive wins in the series at LHS. Louisville now leads the all-time series 12-5 dating back to as early as their first known meeting in the 1946 Northeast Ohio Tournament at Youngstown South. Overall the Leopards are 10-3 against Salem since the Quakers entered the NBC in the 2011-12 season.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to take on the first place Marlington Dukes on Friday, January 5. JV will being at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.

The Leopards rallied in the fourth quarter to earn a convincing 53-41 victory over the visiting Salem Quakers Friday Evening at LHS. With the victory, Louisville is now 4-2 overall and 3-0 against the NBC.
Cory Noble scored 9 of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Leopards. Jimmy Wright also reached double figures with 10 and Scott Gronow added 8 for Louisville.
The Quakers were led by Josh Lehwald who tallied a team-leading 14. Cade Campolito also added 9 and Niko Walter tacked on 8.
