The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated the visiting Revere Minutemen 58-44 Saturday Afternoon at Louisville High School. With the win, Louisville improves to 10-11 on the season.

Sherilynn Mullett recorded another double double to lead the Lady Leopards. She scored a team high 18 points, pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds, and had a game leading 4 steals on defense. Erin Hahn also cashed in a pair of three-pointers to finish with 14 and Paige Cole added 13. Both Cole and Hahn reeled in 8 rebounds for Louisville.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdThe Lady Leopards held a 12-9 advantage at the end of the first, but the Lady Minutemen cut the deficit to to the slimmest of margins by halftime 24-23. Louisville won the third quarter 19-7 to take command of the contest 43-30 before narrowly outscoring Revere in the fourth quarter to solidify their victory.

A big key to the Leopards win was their domination on the glass 41-25. This included a 22-7 advantage on the offensive boards which created far more second chance opportunities than the opposition. LHS was able to put up 11 more shots from the field as a result.

Revere did outshoot Louisville 36% (19 of 52) to 33% (21 of 63) from a percentage standpoint. But the Lady Leopards hit the shots that counted the most in finishing a healthy 4 of 13 (30%) from beyond the arch in comparison to the Minutemen’s cold 0 of 12 (0%) performance from long range.

LHS also doubled up RHS in steals 12-6 and had 12 assists. Kayla Gibson recorded 3 steals and dished out a game leading 4 assists for the Lady Leopards. Maggie Galentine and Lauren Siegfried had a pair of assists each. Galentine and Hahn finished with 2 steals a piece for Louisville.

Revere was led by Taylor Rinn who also registered a double double in scoring a game-high 25 points to go along with a team leading 12 boards. Grace Hete also scored 7 points and had a contest leading 3 blocks.

This is the first ever regular season meeting between the two programs. Their only other matchup came in on February 23, 2006 in the DII Uniontown Sectional Finals. The Minutemen defeated the Leopards 50-40 at Lake High School to end a magnificent 19-3 season.
