Leopards Handed First Loss By Hoover 29-15 – Freshman Football
North Canton Hoover 29, Louisville 15
The Louisville Leopards Freshman Football Team fell to the visiting North Canton Hoover Vikings 29-15 Thursday Evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the loss, Louisville drops to an even 1-1 on the season.
Quarterback Connor Adelman threw a 35 yard touchdown pass to Brandon Kimble as time expired in the first quarter to knot the game at 8-8. That drive was setup by a Leopards safety on the previous possession when the Vikings fell on a high snap in the endzone. Adelman would also score on a 5 yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter, but the Vikings scored three touchdowns in between the Leopards endzone trips.
Dylan Dague ran for a pair touchdowns and a two-point conversion to lead Hoover. Dague scored on a misdirection 11 yard touchdown before half to put North Canton ahead 22-8. He also sealed the win for the Vikings with a 3 yard touchdown run on 4th-and-1 with 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Dague’s conversion run came in the first quarter on a trick play out of the Swinging Gate formation. Long Snapper Brock Ziarko put the ball down and instantly hiked it to the right of his body (instead of through his legs) to Dague who ran in for the conversion. Ziarko scored on a 1 yard run to setup the conversion attempt.
Hoover’s other score came on a 58 yard touchdown sprint by Zander Bugara that quickly answered the first Louisville touchdown.
