Leopards “King” of Jungle Against Lions 61-51 – Boys Basketball
Louisville 61, Minerva 51
The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team earned a double digit 61-51 victory over the visiting Minerva Lions Tuesday Night at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 11-7 overall and is now 10-2 against the NBC.
Chris Libertore scored 11 of his team-high 19 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Leopards. Cam King also hit home 3 three-pointers in scoring all 11 of his points during the second period. Derek Zeller rounded out Louisville’s top scorers by breaking double digits with 10.
The Lions jumped out to the early lead and went up 16-13 at the end of the first quarter. However, the Leopards answered back with a 12-0 run to start the second quarter in taking a 25-16 advantage.

Louisville never trailed again. They remained ahead 30-23 at the break and maintained that advantage in the third quarter to go ahead 41-33.
Libertore, who had a relatively quiet game prior to the fourth quarter, began to heat up and helped the Leopards close out the game. Louisville hit 10 of 14 free throws as a team in the final period to ice the contest.
Minerva (11-8, 7-5) was led by Connor Wright who poured in a game-high 21 points. Brock Croston also hit 2 of the Lions 4 three-pointers to finish with 16 and Jack Hanley added 5.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Canton South to take on the Wildcats on Friday, February 10. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM. This will be the final game played at Charles “Red” Ash Gymnasium.
