Louisville Leopards Boys Golf Team Preview 2016

Cameron Prasco Louisville Leopards Boys Golf

The Leopard golf team returns 3 letter winners from last year’s 11-1 squad, Seniors Cam Prasco and Beatty's Sports Louisville Leopards Fall 2016 White PoloEric Brownsberger along with Sophomore Caleb Prasco. We will begin the season without one of our returnees as Eric Brownsberger is currently battling cancer and completing what we hope to be his last round of chemo therapy this week. We are looking forward to having him back for the second half of his senior season.

After our returnees, we will have a lot of players battling for varsity playing time. During our 3 day, 54 hole tryout, we had 7 golfers within 23 strokes of each other. Competition will be fierce to earn, keep, or take a varsity spot throughout the season.

Senior Brad Walker was our 3rd qualifier during tryouts, so he figures to slot himself into the varsity lineup quite often along with fellow Seniors Brendan Hoffman and Drew Dyer.

Our Junior class will also figure into the Varsity equation with Darren Hester, Jacob Godwin, and Sam Casto all finding themselves in the mix after tryouts. Along with the younger Prasco, Sophomore Connor Wendt figures to spend a lot of time in the varsity line-up, earning the fourth spot during tryouts. Rounding out the Varsity contenders this year will be Freshman Justin Shafer, who finished in the 7 spot during tryouts.

At the Junior Varsity level, there will always be hungry young Leopards trying to get the call-up to the Order Leopard Nation Highlight VideoVarsity level. This should help Coach Corey Street’s squad continue to win a lot of matches in the NBC while turning out quality future varsity golfers. Sophomore John Sypolt continues to show improvement throughout the preseason and looks to continue to get better each round.

Above all else, this squad will represent Louisville very well. They will exhibit hard work, integrity, honor, and sportsmanship every day, in the classroom, in the community, and also on the golf course.

The Leopards new home golf course is Sleepy Hollow in Alliance. Below you can view the team’s schedule and roster:
