Lady Leopards Can’t Lasso Mustangs 47-42 – Girls Basketball

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team suffered their first loss of the season against the host Tuslaw Mustangs Tuesday Evening at THS. With the loss, Louisville falls to 2-1 on the year.

The Lady Leopards were led by Kayla Gibson who finished with team-highs of 12 points and 6 rebounds. Sherilynn Mullett dropped in 9 to go along with 5 rebounds and a team-high 3 assists. Paige Cole and Erin Hahn also scored 7 points a piece. Hahn finished with 5 rebounds and Cole also pulled down 4 boards..

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdThe Lady Mustangs were led by Majestic Sales who scored a game-high 20 points and recorded a game leading 11 rebounds. Taylor Leedy also scored 11 points, Emma Koons scored 6 points and grabbed 6 boards, and Payton Stewart also tallied 5 points to go along with 7 rebounds for Tuslaw.

The Mustangs out-shot the Leopards on their home court 37% (17 of 45) to 25% (13 of 51). Tuslaw also held a 37-28 advantage on the boards including a 21-13 edge on the defensive glass.

This was the first ever meeting between the two teams.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Lake Blue Streaks on Saturday, December 1. JV will begin at Noon and Varsity will follow around 1:30 PM.

Alexis Ralston hit a game-winning three-pointer as time was running out in the fourth quarter to lift the Leopards JV past the host Mustangs 45-42 Tuesday.

Erika Joseph scored a team-high 12 points to lead Louisville. Kelsey Adelman also scored 8 and Kendal Loy added 7.

The see-saw battle started with the Leopards roaring to a 10-4 lead at the end of one, but Tuslaw doubled up Louisville in the second period to take a 22-19 lead. Louisville trimmed the deficit to 34-33 at the end of three before outscoring the Mustangs 12-8 in the final seven minutes.

Ralston scored all 6 of her points including the game-winner in the fourth quarter. Lauren Siegfried also hit home 2 three-pointers in the third quarter for the Lady Leopards.
