My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdThe Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated the host crosstown St. Thomas Aquinas Knights 59-43 Tuesday Night at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. With the victory, the Leopards even their record on the season at 3-3.

Dakota Hoffman made 5 of Louisville’s 9 three-pointers and scored a game-high 19 point to lead LHS. Collin Chambers made 3 of those triples and scored 15. Cory Noble also scored 12 points and Scotty Gronow added 9 for the Leopards.

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdThe two Louisville based teams played to a 17-17 tie at the end of one before St. Thomas took a 33-32 lead into the break. The Leopards would outscore the Knights 27-10 in the second half to take the game. LHS used a 15-8 third quarter to take the lead and then held Aquinas to without a field goal in the fourth quarter in which they held a 12-2 edge.

The Knights (1-4) were led by Moses O’Neal who scored a team-high 11 points. Cadence Brown and Ben Wheeler both reached double figures with 10 each as well for St. Thomas.

This was the first Battle for Louisville on the hardwood since February 8, 1992 when the Leopard defeated the Knights 79-59 at LHS. Louisville now leads the all-time series 2-1 with the only St. Thomas win over the Leopards a 62-49 tournament win on February 23, 1968. This was Louisville’s first ever trip to Aquinas in boys varsity basketball.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to face the Akron Firestone Falcons on Friday, December 20. JV will begin at 5:30 PM with Varsity set to tip around 7:30 PM.
