Beatty's Sports Football 2018 Schedule Shirt T-ShirtThe Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team rallied from a 15-point fourth quarter deficit to stun the host North Canton Hoover Vikings 54-52 Saturday Evening at Hoover High School. Louisville has now won four straight games and improves to 5-3 on the season.

Dakota Hoffman hit 4 three-pointers and scored 8 of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Leopards. Colton Jones hit 5 of Louisville’s 10 makes from beyond the arch to finish with 15. Scott Gronow also poured in 13 points including the game-winning bucket with 4.3 seconds remaining.

They took an 18-11 advantage after the first quarter, extended their lead to 33-24 by halftime, and went up by double digits 45-34 at the end of three quarters. The Vikings would eventually take a fifteen point lead at 50-35 within the first minute of the fourth quarter.

Louisville mounted an improbable rally in the final seven minutes of the game. The Leopards used a 17-0 run to turn a double digit deficit into a 52-50 lead. The Leopards would outscore Hoover 19-2 overall to end the contest as the Vikings tied the game at 52-52 before Gronow had the final word to put LHS up 54-52 with 4.3 seconds left.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdNorth Canton (4-3) was led by Jonah McCartney who scored a team-high 16 points. Landen Rose also scored 9 and Zachary Yun added 8 for the Vikings.

Louisville has now won five straight matchups against Hoover including the last three at North Canton. This is the longest winning streak for the Leopards over the Vikings since winning eight straight over their rivals from 1973-1976 and their longest winning streak in games played at Hoover since winning five straight from 1972-1976. This was Louisville’s 60th win in the rivalry which they trail 60-66 based on records dating back to the 1925-26 season.
