Mullett Records Double-Double as Leopards Tame Lions 66-55 – Girls Basketball
Louisville 66, Minerva 55
The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated the host Minerva Lions 66-55 Saturday Afternoon at Minerva High School. With their third straight victory, Louisville improves to 6-3 on the season.
Sherilynn Mullett recorded a double-double with game-highs of 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Lady Leopards. Paige Cole also poured in 15 points and Kendal Loy finished with 14 for Louisville.
The Lions roared out of the gate taking a 19-10 lead after the first quarter, but the Leopards defense clamped down to hold Minerva to just 17 points over the next two periods. Louisville tripled the score of the opposition in the second quarter 18-6 to take a 28-25 lead into the half. The Leopards extended their advantage to double digits at the end of three 47-36 before the teams played an even 19-19 fourth quarter.
The Lions (5-4) were led by Ella Kendrick and Coletta Miller who both scored a team-high 15 points each. Kendrick hit 5 of the team’s 9 three-pointers to account for all of her points. Miller registered a double-double as she pulled down a team leading 11 boards. Imler and Jenna Walton also scored 6 points each for MHS.
With the victory, the Leopards have now won 8 of their last 10 meetings against the Lions. Louisville now leads the all-time series 45-21, which includes a 21-11 record in games played at Minerva.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to face the Lake Blue Streaks on Monday, December 23. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
