Louisville Comeback Bid Falls Short at Minerva – Boys Soccer

Minerva 3, Louisville 2
The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Soccer Team was edged by the host Minerva Lions 3-2 Tuesday Night at Robert H. Hines Stadium. With the loss, Louisville drops to 2-5-1 at the midway mark of the regular season and 1-2 in conference play.
The Lions led 1-0 at halftime and extended their advantage to 3-0 at the start of the 45th minute. The Leopards rallied back with a pair of goals by Bailey Adams. The scores came just 4:28 apart from each other and got Louisville to within 3-2 with 26:28 to play.
However, neither team scored the rest of the way and Minerva prevailed 3-2. The Lions have now defeated the Leopards in 6 of their past 7 meetings. Louisville still leads the all-time series 10-8-1, but the series is now an even 5-5-1 in games played at Minerva. The Leopards last road win over the Lions came on September 5, 2006 in a 2-1 victory. Minerva has defended home turf in their past 4 matchups.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Lake to take on the Blue Streaks on Saturday, September 16 at 3:00 PM.
