Louisville Leopards Light Blue Hoodie Established 1924 - Beatty's Sports Fall 2017The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team fell to the host Massillon Tigers 65-40 Monday Evening at Washington High School. With the loss, Louisville drops to 0-5 on the year.

Ellie Jackson finished with a game-high 14 points and a game leading 3 steals to lead the Leopards. Erin Hahn also scored 5 points, had a game-high 3 steals, and pulled down a team leading 7 rebounds. Morgan Cole rounded out Louisville’s top scorers with 5 points, Cassidy Kiko had 6 boards, and Kayla Gibson also tallied a team-high 4 assists for the Lady Leopards. 

Massillon came out of the gate firing and connecting on 10 field goals in the opening quarter to take a 24-9 lead. The Lady Tigers continued their attack in the second quarter as they compiled a 25-0 run to move ahead 34-9 before a three-pointer by Hahn stopped the bleeding.

Grove Appliance Alliance Ohio AdMassillon used a 44% (27 of 61) performance from the field to double up Louisville 38-19 at the break and pull ahead 57-29 at the end of three quarters. The Leopards shot just 22% (14 of 61) from the floor for the game but managed to outscore the Tigers 11-8 in the final period.

Massillon was led by Tamia Ridley who matched Jackson with a game-high 14 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Ridley’s performance, along with 8 rebounds from teammate Kortney Kyles, helped guide the Tigers to a 39-32 advantage on the glass. Anika Dansby also scored 13 points, Makayla Pierce broke double digits with 10 points, and Kaylee Pierce finished with a double double. Pierce’s stat line included 10 points, 10 assists, and 4 steals for WHS.

Despite the loss, the Lady Leopards still lead the all-time series over the Lady Tigers 13-10 although the series is now tied 5-5 in games played at Massillon. The Tigers have now won 2 straight against Louisville and 6 of the last 7 in the series overall.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to take on the Alliance Aviators at Harry Fails Gymnasium on Wednesday, December 13. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.

The Lady Leopards JV Team kept their unblemished record in a 51-34 win over the host Massillon Tigers at WHS Monday Evening. Louisville JV is now 4-0 to start the season. 

Sherilynn Mullett dropped in a game-high 18 points to lead the Lady Leopards. Also scoring double digits for Louisville were Paige Cole with 13 and Sydney Bast with 10.

The Lady Tigers were led by Zionna Warren hit hit 4 three-pointers and finished with a team-high 14. Mackenzie Duplain also cashed in 12 and McKeyah Duley added 4 for Massillon.
