The Louisville Leopards Varsity Wrestling Team demolished the host Marlington Dukes 55-12 Thursday Night at Marlington High School. With the win, Louisville remains unbeaten at 3-0 in dual meets.
Jax Leonard (160), Riley Brendle (275), Garett Lautzenheiser (120), Davin Rhoads (126), and Logan Vanicek (132) all recorded pins to lead the Leopards. Brent Paulus (195) was victorious by forfeit and Blake Robbins (220) also won by technical fall 16-2.
The Leopards scored the first 17 points of the match before the Dukes Luke Debee (170) and Colton Kerns (182) won back-to-back decisions. Louisville followed that Marlington run with 20 straight points over the course of the next 4 bouts to take a 37-6 advantage.
The Dukes Marius Brown (113) won by fall in the following matchup, but the Leopards answered back with three consecutive pins by Lautzenheiser, Rhoads, and Vanicek to end the match.
Louisville won 11 of the 14 matches overall. Jackson Simpson (138) and Carter Mickley (145) earned major decisions. Daniel Kennedy (152) and Charlie Simpson (106) also won by decision for the Leopards.
