The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team earned a 54-45 victory against the host Hubbard Eagles in their season opener Friday at Hubbard High School.
Collin Chambers scored 8 of his game-high 14 points in the second half to lead the Leopards. Bryce Zuppe also reach double figures with 10 and Scotty Gronow tacked on 8.
The Leopards fell behind by as many as 12 points, but never trailed by more than three at the end of any quarter. The Eagles led 15-12 at the end of one, 28-24 at halftime, and 38-37 at the end of three. Louisville outscored Hubbard 19-7 in the final period to take the contest.
Hubbard (0-1) was led by Cam Resatar who hit a pair of three-pointers and finished with a team leading 13 points. Davion Daniels also scored 9 and Chanze Kelley added 7 for the Eagles.
This is the first known meeting between the two teams.
