Leopards Win Streak Snapped in Night Game at GlenOak – Baseball
GlenOak 4, Louisville 1
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team fell to the host GlenOak Golden Eagles 4-1 Monday Night at Joe Gilhousen Field. The loss snaps the Leopards 9-game winning streak as they drop to 12-4 on the season.
The only Louisville run of the contest came in the fifth inning. Carter Rode doubled on a hard ground ball to left field to start the frame. Two batters later, Bryce Zuppe cracked a 1-out single to center scoring Rode from third.
Cam Lingle had the only other two hits for the Leopards, which included a double to lead off the second inning. Eddie Budinski started the game and struck out 2, while Dillon English pitched 2 scoreless innings and struck out 1.
GlenOak (6-6) was led by Logan Jones who pitched 5 innings, gave up 1 run on 3 hits, and struck out 7. Jones also hit a 2-run single in the opening frame that saw the Golden Eagles take an early 3-0 advantage.
Nathan Bledenbach also batted a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI and run scored. Austin Booth drove in a run and Ryan Bergert tagged a double for the other GlenOak highlights.
