With the victory, Louisville is now 4-1 overall and 2-0 in NBC play.

The two league contenders were mirror images of each other through each of their first two drives. Both teams strung together long drives that led to field goals. Louisville’s Austin Terra booted through a 25 yard kick after a 17 play, 73 yard drive that took up half the quarter. Carrollton’s Daniel Leary hit from 29 yards away to knot the score at 3-3 with two seconds left in the opening period.

Each them responded to the other with touchdowns in the second quarter. Zwick found Ryan Lautner who shimmied his way to the endzone from 50 yards away for the Leopards. Then the Warriors capped off a 16 play, 80 yard drive with a 2 yard touchdown pass from Zade Dietz to Caleb Pasiuk. Pasiuk finished one catch short of the single game school record as he was the game’s top receiver with 10 catches for 101 yards.

With the game tied at 10-10, Tyler Adams brought the ensuing kickoff back 58 yards to the Warriors 34. However, a fumble on the next play gave Carrollton possession back. The Leopards defense answered the call though forcing a three-and-out and giving the offense the ball back with 44 ticks left. Louisville only needed one play as Zwick zig-zagged his way to a 49 yard score that put the Leopards ahead 17-10 at the break.

On the first play from scrimmage in the second half, Warrior Runningback Tyler Dodd rumbled his way to a 13 yard gain. However, Carrollton gained just one yard on the next three plays and were forced to punt. Dodd finished the contest with 16 carries for 80 yards to lead the Carrollton ground attack.

With the ball back, Louisville looked for the knockout punch. Zwick broke free of runs of 27 and 20 before finding the endzone from 16 yards out. On the next possession, the Leopards defense came up big again as Daichi Castles recovered a fumble at the Carrollton 36. Four plays later, Zwick took a high snap, got control, and scampered 6 yards to the right side of the endzone to put Louisville ahead 31-10. The third quarter has been key for the Leopards all season as they have now outscored their opposition 59-0 in that period.

The two teams traded touchdowns back and forth in the final quarter. Deitz hit Brenton Miller for an 8 yard touchdown and also Pasiuk for a second time from 16 yards away. Deitz finished 23 of 31 passing for 186 yards. For Louisville, Zwick connected with Adams for a 23 yard strike in between those Carrollton touchdowns. Zwick finished 9 of 15 passing for 141 yards. Leading receivers for the Leopards included Kyle Woost with 4 catches for 40 yards and Lautner with 2 catches for 55 yards.

Defensively, Linebacker Kyle Ashcraft had 16 tackles for Louisville. Casey Nau also had a wild interception midway through the third quarter and Stephen Kerzan picked off a Carrollton conversion attempt.

With the win, the Leopards are now 32-5-2 against the Warriors all-time which includes a 14-3-2 record at Carrollton. Louisville has won 8 out of the last 9 in the series overall.
