Louisville Cancels For Second Time This Week

Louisville City Schools are closed for the second time this week due to Northeast Ohio’s snowglobe-like weather.  However, there are no athletic events scheduled for tonight to worry about being cancelled.  This is the seventh snow day of the school year for LHS.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect until 4 PM this afternoon.  Here’s a look at Weather Underground’s statement posted at 6:29 AM:

“… Winter Storm Warning in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon…
The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow… which is in effect until 4 PM EST
this afternoon.

Snow moderate at times will occur before tapering off this
afternoon. Snow accumulations during the daylight hours will be 2
to 4 inches for a storm total of 4 to 8 inches. Plenty of blowing
and drifting snow will develop today.

Extra time will be needed for the morning commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

A Winter Storm Warning is issued when severe winter weather is
expected. Heavy snow and/or ice will cause hazardous driving
conditions. If you will be traveling in the warning area you
should choose an alternate Route if possible, or you should use
extreme caution if travel is unavoidable. Stay tuned to NOAA
Weather Radio and other radio and TV stations for further details
or updates.”
