The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team fell to the host Lake Blue Streaks 8-7 Wednesday evening at the Lake High School Baseball Field. With the loss, Louisville falls to 3-3 on the season.

Gionino's Pizzeria Oakwood - Mobile AdEven though Louisville Varsity Leopards collected eight hits to Lake’s seven, they still fell 8-7 on Wednesday at Lake High School Baseball Field. Zander Triplett, Max Roberts, and Jake Beard each collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards.

Louisville Varsity Leopards was right in it until Lake hit a home run to right field in the sixth inning.

Louisville Varsity Leopards opened the scoring in the first after Cody Zahler homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Lake made the score 3-2 in the bottom of the first after Alex Quior homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Max Retyon singled, scoring one run.

Louisville Varsity Leopards made the score 5-3 in the top of the fifth after Beard doubled, scoring two runs, and Noah Morris hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdLake jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Quior doubled to center field, and Anderson Alacchi homered to right field, each scoring two runs.

Caden Kortis opened the game for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The hurler allowed four hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking four. Aj Mitchell stepped on the hill first for Lake. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out four and walking five.

Zahler and Beard each drove in two runs for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Grayson Brunoni led Louisville Varsity Leopards with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game.

West Main Vet Clinic AdQuior led Lake with four runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-4 on the day. Quior and Mitchell each collected two hits for Lake. Lake turned one double play in the game.

Next up for Louisville Varsity Leopards is a game against University School Varsity Preppers on Saturday.
