Leopards Race Past Mustangs 10-0, Khalid Hat Trick
Louisville 10, Tuslaw 0
Abdul Khalid tallied a Hat Trick and Micah Neuenschwander added 2 goals during the Leopards 10-0 rout of the visiting Tuslaw Mustangs in Saturday’s scrimmage.
The turning point in the match came with 32:07 remaining in the second half on a Tuslaw penalty kick. After a controversial call, Louisville Goalie Austin Terra batted away the PK and snagged it for the save. A goal would have kept the Mustangs in the game, but instead the momentum completely shifted to the Leopards who would score 8 goals in the final 25:38 of the contest.
Seven different Louisville players scored in the contest and seven different players also recorded assists. Trevor Burk and Brennan Seemann each had 2 assists, while Mitch Perez, Corey Wilson, Neuenschwander, Christian Clark, and Khalid all had 1. While Khalid and Neuenschwander combined for half the Leopards scoring, Louisville also added goals via Austin Hallas, Joseph Davide, Burk, Mitch Perez, and even starting goalie Terra.
Terra traded his yellow goalie uniform in for a white Louisville one in the second half. Jarrett Zwick took over the net in his place and the two combined for a shutout. Louisville is now 1-1 on the scrimmage season.
