Ryan Bush scored a game-high 22 points and Anthony Shivers added 17 as the Salem Quakers spoiled Louisville’s Senior Night 60-52 Friday.  Blake Hoover and Bryce Mathie each scored a game-high 10 points to lead Louisville in the loss.

Six different Leopards scored in the opening period as they mounted a 14-12 advantage.  But the Quakers answered back as Bush scored 9 points in the second quarter to put Salem ahead at the Beatty's Winter Hoodiesbreak 30-24.

Louisville would get back to as close as 34-31, but would never manage to regain the lead.  Shivers took over for the Quakers in the third quarter by scoring 8 points in the period.

Louisville did outscore Salem 17-14 in the final period, but the Quakers put the game away from the free throw line making 10 of 15 foul shots in the fourth to ice the victory.

Pavin Parks and Mathie each hit 2 three-pointers for the Leps during the contest.  Parks scored 8 and Joe Crank added 7 for Louisville as well, while Salem’s Max Wolfgang added 11.

The Leopards two Seniors Alex Schooley and Mike Weiss were honored in the pre-game along with all the Senior Cheerleaders.  During the contest Schooley and Weiss both scored 4 points a piece.  Weiss also had a swat and two key offensive rebounds in the first half.  Leopard Nation would like to give a shout-out to our two Senior basketball players for all the memories they have provided over the past few years!

With the win, the Quakers improve to 15-6 overall and finish 9-5 in the NBC.  With the loss, Louisville falls to 4-17 overall and finishes 2-12 in the NBC.  Salem has now taken the last three meetings against Louisville.
